Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is committed to creating an
excellent patient care experience for you and your family. This begins
when you walk through our doors. Upon entering MLKCH, a greeter will meet
you, answer your questions, and help you find Admissions.
Your registration specialist will interview you and enter all of your information
into the MLKCH computer system, creating your personal Electronic Health
Record (EHR). This EHR will be updated each time you have a procedure,
take medications, or receive healthcare orders from your doctor. The information
contained in the EHR is safe and secure, but accessible to you and to
everyone on your MLKCH healthcare team. Additionally, you will be able
to learn about our Patient Portal,
YourMLKCH, and register for free. This will allow you to securely access your health
information while you are at MLKCH and from home.
- During the admissions process you will be notified of privacy issues and
informed of your patient rights and responsibilities.
After your EHR is established, you will be assigned a personal
Care Manager who will oversee and guide you through your entire hospital experience,
including after you return home.
- After registration, you will be escorted to and assigned a nursing station.
