The Walt Disney Company stepped forward to help us promote comfort and normalcy in the hospital environment through a curated art collection.
Thanks to a lead gift from The Walt Disney Company, the hospital will build a collection of art from local artists to adorn patient areas.
The grant will help expand the Martin Luther King, Jr. Hospital’s inpatient services, meeting more community needs.
The spring 2017 gift of $500,000 will help close the gap in care for chronically ill adults in South Los Angeles.
The assets, made possible through the New Markets Tax Credit Program, support more services aimed at high areas of patient need.
The $300,000 gift helps MLKCH meet our community’s need for diagnostic and treatment services.

The James Irvine Foundation bestowed the honor, along with a gift of $250,000, for improving health equity and access in South LA.
The Weingart Foundation and Ballmer Group awarded the grant in January 2018.
The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation leads the way for South Los Angeles’ Healthy Babies, Healthy Beginnings with an early, and significant, grant.
The funding supports the expansion of the MLKCH maternity services, so new mothers in South Los Angeles will be able to deliver their babies close to home.
