Portrait of Zaneta Smith, a young Black woman

Zaneta Smith

Lead Organizer, TEDxCrenshaw | Founder, Kolor Society

Named as a Nike Legacy Project Changemaker, Zaneta Smith is a fierce social impact leader. By day, she works as a social worker. By night she serves as lead organizer of TEDxCrenshaw, an annual conference that promotes ideas worth spreading in South Los Angeles, and also as CEO of Kolor Society, a social club for millennials and Generation X of the African diaspora.

Zaneta lives by the motto, “The personal is political.” A former White House intern in the Obama Administration, Zaneta received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College. When she is not working, she is daydreaming, eating, and traveling.
